What are the responsibilities and job description for the [POOL] PT Faculty, Welding position at Linn-Benton Community College?
This posting is for a pooled position. Application submissions for “[POOL]” positions are accepted on an ongoing basis to ensure a continuous and ready pool of qualified candidates for immediate review when the need arises. If/when a position becomes available, the College will review applications from this pool, and interview candidates whose qualifications best match the specific opening.

Teach a variety of Welding classes including Basic Print Reading, Welding Fabrication, and Arc Welding. Initial assignment will include emphasis on fabrications projects.
- Teach classes.
- Instruction to industry standards.
- Grading and assessment of student written and lab work.
- Work as a team member of department and deliver curriculum as determined by the chair and faculty.
- Maintain equipment and facilities.
- Manage students in a learning environment.
- Deliver appropriate safety related instruction.
- Perform other professional duties as needed.

Education and Experience:

Completion of a journey program in welding, pipefitting or mechanical maintenance trade involving significant welding experience, plus an additional five or more years full-time journey level experience in welding, metal fabrications and layout.
- Applicants with an associate’s degree in welding or related field, completion of a journey program and three years journey level experience will also be considered.
- Work is performed in an office or classroom setting with minimal exposure to safety or health hazards.

Salary and Compensation Information:
Courses are paid on a per-credit basis. New Part-time Faculty begin at Step 1 of the payscale, with steps being “rolled” once per term, if eligible.

- Table 1 illustrates the cost per credit for each step on the pay scale. Instructors new to the College typically start at the rate listed in column 1.
