Duties
- Safely operate company vehicles, power tools, hand tools, and turf machinery to apply chemicals and perform turf maintenance tasks.
- Mix, handle, and apply chemical agents such as fungicides, herbicides, and fertilizers following strict safety protocols and pesticide management regulations.
- Conduct pest control treatments targeting insects, weeds, and other pests using integrated pest management strategies to minimize environmental impact.
- Maintain detailed records of chemical applications, pest control activities, and safety inspections in accordance with regulatory guidelines.
- Collaborate with groundskeeping staff to support overall turf health through lawn care practices aligned with farming, landscaping, or agricultural principles.
- Conduct mowing and other golf course maintenance practices as directed by Superintendent and/or Director of Agronomy.
Skills
- Strong knowledge of pesticide application techniques, pest control methods, and integrated pest management practices.
- Mechanical aptitude for operating machinery, power tools, hand tools, and company vehicles confidently and safely.
- Familiarity with chemical agent handling procedures including proper storage, mixing, application, and disposal.
- Excellent customer service skills to communicate effectively with team members and visitors when needed.
- Ability to follow safety protocols rigorously, including ladder use, ladder safety procedures, confined space entry safety procedures, and respiratory protection measures.
- Outdoor work experience in lawn care, farming or landscaping environments that demonstrates resilience in variable weather conditions.
- Basic entomology knowledge for identifying pests accurately and implementing effective control strategies.
