What are the responsibilities and job description for the Partnerships Director position at Linkby?
Linkby is a global VC-funded adtech business that connects established and emerging D2C ecommerce brands with the world’s largest publishers – including The Daily Mail, News Corp, Penske Media Co, Dotdash Meredith, The Daily Beast, Katie Couric Media and hundreds more. Our performance-driven suite of products and services helps brands and publishers collaborate more profitably and effectively than ever before.
As we scale our U.S. footprint and expand our product offering, we’re looking for a senior, well-connected sales operator Partnerships Director to help scale our growth across the East Coast. You should have deep industry knowledge, a strong network across brands and agencies, and a proven track record of building high-performing teams and growing revenue in fast-paced environments.
You’ll serve as both player and coach: overseeing team performance, resolving client challenges, bridging communication between leadership and sales, and leveraging your brand and agency network to build pipeline and close deals.
This is a unique opportunity to work with a global team intent on disrupting the way the world’s most exciting digital media brands monetize their audiences, with a focus on high-quality e-commerce content that sits perfectly alongside publishers’ organic content.
Key responsibilities:
- Team management – Lead the East Coast Partnerships team, supporting direct reports with client strategy, pipeline hygiene, and overall performance.
- New business growth – Identify and secure new brand, agency, and affiliate partnerships through outbound prospecting, meetings, and Linkby platform demos.
- Revenue generation – Own and grow team revenue targets, both monthly and annually, ensuring consistent MoM and YoY growth.
- Client management – Leverage your existing network to build and manage your own patch of high-value clients, while supporting your team’s development of theirs.
- Strategic prioritization – Lead strategic patch planning across the team to ensure alignment with revenue goals and market potential.
- Client retention – Proactively manage churn and engagement rates, ensuring advertisers remain active and see long-term value from the platform.
- Training & onboarding – Run team-wide enablement sessions, train new hires, and support development across sales skills, product knowledge, and client strategy.
- External meetings & events – Represent Linkby in meetings with brands and agencies, from brief responses to lunch-and-learns. Attend industry conferences to source leads and build visibility.
- Internal reporting – Work closely with the Country Lead and Head of Global Sales to report on pipeline, performance, and progress toward quarterly growth targets.
Qualifications:
- 7 years’ experience in business development, brand partnerships, or digital sales within digital marketing, affiliate, or adtech
- Proven success managing a team and/or multiple direct reports
- A strong sales track record with the ability to lead by example and hit (or exceed) KPIs
- Strategic thinker and proactive problem-solver who thrives on ownership and accountability
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills - you’re just as confident cold-emailing as you are closing in-person deals
- Experience working in a fast-paced startup or scale-up environment
- Familiarity with CRM systems (HubSpot preferred)
- An existing network of brands and/or agencies you can activate quickly is highly advantageous
Compensation & benefits:
- $140,000 – $160,000 base salary (commensurate with experience)
- Quarterly performance bonus
- Competitive ESOP (employee stock ownership plan)
- Competitive 401k options with employer match
- Health insurance: optical, medical, dental
- Free breakfast, snacks and happy hours at our office in Manhattan
- Regular team get-togethers
