Position Overview:
The candidate will serve as a subject matter expert (SME) for SAP Finance (FI/CO), Funds Management (FM), and Project Systems (PS), supporting current systems and assisting with the implementation of S/4HANA financial enterprise software. This role includes system configuration, process improvement, integration with other SAP modules, and end-to-end support throughout the project lifecycle.
Duties:
- Serve as SME for Finance, Funds Management, and Project Systems processes, supporting current and new S/4HANA systems.
- Act as IT point of contact for Finance, FM, and PS activities, coordinating with project teams, system integrators, and business stakeholders.
- Partner with internal IT and business finance teams to provide configuration, development, testing, and support for financial systems.
- Learn current As-Is Finance, FM, and PS processes to facilitate mapping to future To-Be processes.
- Support implementation of new or enhanced processes and reporting capabilities.
- Develop, document, and maintain changes in Finance, FM, and PS processes across ECC and S/4HANA environments.
- Support data profiling, cleansing, reconciliation, testing, and validation of master and transactional data.
- Ensure modifications and upgrades are thoroughly tested and documented.
- Partner with teams to support financial and project systems reporting and analysis.
- Assist in identifying training needs and provide training on new processes, systems, or functionality.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues in ECC and provide support during cutover and post-go-live in S/4HANA.
- Support best practices for system/process change management and business practice documentation.
- Participate in process discovery and design workshops to develop SAP Finance, FM, and PS solutions.
- Review and edit functional and technical design documents, test plans, and training materials.
- Support integrations between SAP ECC/S4HANA and other internal or external systems, including payments and banking processes.
- Support brownfield migrations from ECC to S/4HANA, including cloud-based environments and transition from SAP GUI to Fiori.
Required Skills:
- 10 years of experience configuring and supporting SAP ECC 6.0 and S/4HANA Finance, Funds Management, and Project Systems.
- 2 projects of implementation experience with Banking and Treasury components of SAP.
- Extensive knowledge and experience with SAP Finance and Controlling (FI/CO) components, with a strong understanding of related end-to-end business processes.
- Strong knowledge and deep experience with SAP Project Systems (PS), ideally using both ECC and S/4HANA.
- Experience with month-end and year-end financial processes in SAP ECC 6.0 and S/4HANA.
- Experience participating in process discovery and design workshops to develop and deliver SAP Finance, Project Systems, and Funds Management solutions, ideally using SAP S/4HANA.
- Thorough understanding of end-to-end business, data, and transaction processes.
- Hands-on experience developing, reviewing, and editing functional and technical design documents, test plans, and related documentation.
- Hands-on experience developing, reviewing, and editing training materials (process documents, job aids, etc.) for Banking and Treasury business processes.
- Understanding of financial procedures, policies, and regulations for public agencies.
- Bachelor’s degree in business management or information systems, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Preferred Skills:
- Certifications in S/4HANA Finance, Funds Management, and Project Systems.
