Linfield University is seeking a compassionate, organized, and student-centered professional to serve as our Student Support & Veteran Affairs Coordinator. This position plays a vital role in supporting student success while serving as the University's primary School Certifying Official for VA education benefits.
Job Summary
The Student Support and Veteran Affairs Coordinator supports the day-to-day work of the Student Care & Support office by providing student outreach, resource navigation, case follow-up, program coordination, recordkeeping, and support for students experiencing academic, personal, financial, social, or wellness-related challenges.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
Student Care & Support Responsibilities
- Provide outreach, follow-up, and resource navigation for students experiencing academic, personal, financial, social, or wellness-related challenges.
- Support early intervention and retention initiatives, including Care Team, academic concern outreach, and other student success efforts.
- Collaborate with campus partners to connect students with appropriate resources and reduce barriers to student success.
- Help develop and implement programs, communications, and resources that support student well-being, belonging, and persistence.
Veteran Affairs Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary School Certifying Official (SCO).
- Process and manage all VA education benefits, including invoicing, certification, system coordination, and student communication.
- Maintain institutional compliance with VA and State Approving Agency regulations.
- Support veteran and military-affiliated students.
- Plan and implement programs and events supporting veteran and military-affiliated students.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree.
- Experience with VA Education Benefits or willingness to learn.
- Experience in an educational setting, program management, or leadership roles.
- Demonstrated experience supporting students through challenging situations.
- Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
