Spanish Bilingual Senior Admission Counselor

Position Overview
Linfield University is seeking a Spanish Bilingual Senior Admission Counselor to join our enrollment team. This role is integral to attracting, recruiting, admitting, and enrolling a competitive class of undergraduate students. The successful candidate will provide high-quality counseling and support to prospective students and families, with a strong commitment to student service and the University’s mission.
Key Responsibilities
• Prospect for qualified students by visiting high schools and college fairs.
• Provide student- and family-centered counseling to demonstrate how Linfield University meets prospective student needs.
• Review application credentials for assigned students, make admission decisions, and award merit-based scholarships.
• Counsel admitted students and families on financial aid processes, philosophy, and individual aid packages.
• Conduct timely and high-quality follow-up with prospective students, parents, and high school personnel.
• Confirm and enroll students from assigned territories.
• Conduct on-campus interviews with prospective students and families.
• Serve as a resource for Spanish-speaking students and families.
• Assist with campus open houses, including serving as co-lead for Bilingual Open House.
• Deliver bilingual admission and financial aid presentations.
• Manage and coordinate translation of select marketing materials.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Education and Experience
• Bachelor’s degree required.
• 1–2 years of experience in sales or recruiting preferred.
• Previous experience in private higher education undergraduate admission preferred.
Technology Skills
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
• Ability to use university software systems to create and maintain student admission records.
Human Relations Skills
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
• Demonstrated customer service orientation with urgency and responsiveness.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
• Strong multitasking and prioritization skills.
• High attention to detail and accuracy.
• Sensitivity to the needs of students.
Additional Requirements
• Bilingual in Spanish required.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to be insured under the University’s plan.
• Willingness to work evenings and weekends as needed.
