Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Locator to join our team in Blackhawk, CO. The Locator will be responsible for accurately identifying and marking underground utilities and infrastructure to ensure safe excavation and construction activities. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to work independently in various outdoor environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Locate and mark underground utilities such as gas, water, electric, and telecommunications lines using specialized equipment.
• Interpret maps, blueprints, and utility drawings to identify utility locations.
• Communicate with contractors, utility companies, and other stakeholders to coordinate locating activities.
• Maintain accurate records of located utilities and provide detailed reports.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies during all locating activities.
• Perform routine maintenance and calibration of locating equipment.
• Respond promptly to locate requests and work efficiently to meet project deadlines.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous experience in utility locating or a related field preferred.
• Familiarity with underground utility systems and construction processes.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and maps.
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

Work Environment
