Locate Technician

Location: Evergreen, CO

Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Locator to join our team in Evergreen, CO. The Locator will be responsible for accurately identifying and marking underground utilities and infrastructure to ensure safe excavation and construction activities. This role requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently in various outdoor environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Locate and mark underground utilities such as gas, water, electric, and telecommunications lines using specialized equipment.
• Interpret maps, blueprints, and utility drawings to identify utility locations.
• Communicate with contractors, utility companies, and clients to coordinate locating activities.
• Document and report findings accurately and timely.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies during all locating activities.
• Maintain and calibrate locating equipment to ensure accuracy.
• Respond promptly to locate requests and emergency situations as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous experience in utility locating or a related field preferred.
• Familiarity with underground utility systems and construction processes.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and maps.
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
• Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.

Work Environment

This position involves working outdoors in a variety of weather conditions and terrains. The Locator will often work independently and must be able to manage time effectively to meet deadlines.
