Packaging Sales Representative

Key Responsibilities / Qualifications:

We are seeking a highly motivated, aggressive, and results-driven Outside Sales Representative to identify, develop, and secure new business opportunities within the packaging industry. This individual will be responsible for prospecting manufacturers, distributors, warehouses, fulfillment centers, food processors, contract packagers, retailers, and industrial facilities that utilize packaging, shipping, janitorial, and supply chain products.

The ideal candidate is a "hunter" who thrives on opening doors, conducting on-site visits, uncovering customer pain points, and converting prospects into long-term customers. This role requires a self-starter who is comfortable with cold calling, networking, prospecting, and building relationships at all levels of an organization.

Key Responsibilities

Business Development & Prospecting

• Aggressively pursue new business opportunities within assigned territory.
• Conduct daily cold calls, emails, LinkedIn outreach, and in-person visits.
• Develop relationships with plant managers, warehouse managers, operations managers, supply chain professionals, purchasing teams, and executive leadership.
• Identify opportunities to replace incumbent suppliers and capture market share.
• Generate and maintain a robust sales pipeline through continuous prospecting activities.
• Attend trade shows, industry events, and networking functions to identify new opportunities.

Customer Consulting & Sales

• Conduct facility walkthroughs to identify packaging inefficiencies and cost-saving opportunities.
• Present packaging solutions that improve productivity, reduce costs, and enhance operational efficiencies.
• Recommend products including:
• Corrugated boxes
• Stretch film
• Tape and adhesives
• Labels and thermal printing supplies
• Poly bags
• Mailers
• Protective packaging
• Foam-in-place systems
• Strapping and banding
• Pallet protection products
• Janitorial and sanitation supplies
• Packaging automation equipment
• Prepare and deliver professional sales presentations and proposals.
• Negotiate pricing, contracts, and supplier agreements.

Account Management

• Develop long-term customer relationships.
• Serve as a trusted advisor and packaging resource.
• Coordinate with customer service, purchasing, and operations teams to ensure customer satisfaction.
• Conduct regular business reviews and identify account growth opportunities.
• Maintain detailed records of all activities within CRM software.
