Senior Engineer - Innovation

What you will enjoy doing*
- In this role you will lead the strategic innovation of early technology readiness level ceramic materials for applications including thermal barrier, environmental barrier, solid oxide fuel cell/solid oxide electrolyzer cell, and other specialized ceramics for functionality related to their application requirements
- You will work on-site at the Indianapolis facility in synthesizing novel materials along with performing characterization of such materials and interpreting results
- Further, you will support evaluation criteria through Linde’s technical gate system to determine project future states and create report-outs for upper management
- Travel to key customer accounts with Business Development or Commercial colleagues to continually improve knowledge of current state of the art materials and material challenges from current and new customer base
- You will continually evaluate what processing techniques and synthesis capabilities are existing and what new methods may be needed to achieve novel material candidates
- Advanced degree and related experience in the field of ceramics and/or high temperature material synthesis
- Ceramic powder processing experience highly preferred
- Ability to work in a laboratory setting where experimentation and innovation is self-led
- You should be able to demonstrate a track record of innovative thinking and technical accomplishments
- Further you must have strong interpersonal skills with an ability to work both independently and cooperatively in both on-site and customer locales
