The Integrity Regulation Strategy and Policy team is seeking a team-oriented Public Policy Manager to support efforts in positively shaping content regulation across the Americas region. This role is pivotal in driving strategic alignment on global content regulation policy, monitoring regulatory developments, and advising on engagement and advocacy initiatives.
The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in program management, policy analysis and writing, stakeholder coordination, and strategic communication. They will provide guidance on legislative responses, contribute to advocacy strategies, and develop messaging approaches for regulatory issues affecting the technology sector.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Policy Leadership: Support the team's efforts to establish company-wide alignment on global content regulation strategy and policy, positively influencing regulatory outcomes.
- Regulatory Monitoring & Analysis: Conduct ongoing research on current and emerging regulation issues related to digital content, providing leadership and stakeholders with insights into industry trends.
- Legislative & Advocacy Support: Assist in shaping responses to regulatory developments, including bill analysis, messaging strategy, and advocacy planning.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with policy, operations, legal, and other teams to define priorities, ensure content regulation workstreams are aligned, and track regulatory engagement progress.
- Stakeholder Communication: Communicate policy positions, industry best practices, and global regulatory trends to internal and external audiences through compelling written and verbal messaging.
- Ethical Standards & Representation: Ensure transparency and ethical integrity in engagements while maintaining strong relationships with vendors, clients, and key stakeholders.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Law, Policy, Human Rights, or a relevant field.
- 7-10 years of experience in public policy, government agencies, regulatory bodies, think tanks, NGOs, or advocacy roles.
- Proven experience in internet technologies, security, privacy, integrity, safety, and content moderation, with a strong focus on freedom of expression.
- Expertise in policy stakeholder engagement and advocacy, including both verbal and written communication.
- Demonstrated success in project or program management, with cross-functional collaboration domestically and internationally.
- Ability to work on sensitive topics, managing confidential information and complex relationships with discretion.
- Spanish language proficiency
Location: Washington D.C. (Onsite)
Role type: Contract 8 Month Position
