We primarily engage in the marine and mining industry, offering many career opportunities. We are currently seeking a full-time Facilities and Securities Manager in Vallejo, Ca.
The Facilities and Security Manager plans, directs, and coordinates maintenance, functionalities, security, safety and environmental compliance of Lind’s facilities throughout the SF Bay Area. Operations that these facilities support include dredging, sand and oyster shell mining, marine salvage and construction, shipyard operations, and oyster shell processing. This Position works closely with management and collaborates across departments when appropriate to ensure operational continuity, regulatory compliance, and efficient facility performance. This position reports to the Vice President of Operations Planning and ESG Programs. The position is primarily based at the Vallejo (Mare Island) location.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Maintain site compliance with environmental requirements (stormwater, hazardous materials, air, etc.) in coordination with ESG and operations management.
- Oversee facility hazardous materials handling, storage and disposal in collaboration with safety and compliance personnel when appropriate.
- Conduct regular facility safety and environmental inspections; document and effect responses to deficiencies.
- Coordinate with Operations staff to maintain safety equipment and supplies.
- Coordinate facility maintenance and repair activities with operations management including electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and grounds.
- Create and implement a preventive maintenance schedule for equipment and facilities in coordination with operations management in coordination with operations management when appropriate.
- Coordinate with Operations and Regulatory Affairs to design facility improvements to increase efficiency.
- Assist operations management with planning and implementation of facility refurbishment and renovations.
- Analyze and evaluate security operations to identify risks or opportunities for improvement, collaborating with management when appropriate.
- Design security policies, programs, and/or practices to ensure adequate security.
- Assess risks to mitigate potential consequences of incidents and develop a plan to respond to incidents in consultation with management when appropriate.
- Monitor the facilities to ensure that they remain safe, secure, and well-maintained.
- Respond to facility and equipment alarms and system failures.
- Schedule routine inspections and emergency repairs with outside vendors.
- Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations and assist with energy management.
- Purchase materials, equipment, or other resources.
- Negotiate and manage contracts to optimize delivery and cost savings.
- Promote worksite safety and provide coaching, mentoring, and recognition to employees within the department.
- Allocate and manage facility space for maximum efficiency.
- Manage leasing of facility space in coordination with Operations and Admin staff.
- Monitor expenses and payments.
- Provide regular feedback to company management on facility needs and budget.
- Develop and maintain excellent working relationships.
- Additional duties as assigned
- Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
- Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and coaching employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
- 3-5 years in multi-site facilities maintenance management
- Bachelor’s / Associates degree in business, engineering, or equivalent professional level experience
- Construction / shipyard / marine / heavy industrial trade experience a plus
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Advanced knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems
- Proficiency with repair tools and techniques
- Knowledge of general maintenance methods, operating requirements, and safety precautions related to facilities management.
- Strong procurement and negotiation skills
- Knowledge of hazardous materials regulations and practices.
- Knowledge of OSHA and other safety and environmental regulations
- Knowledge of security systems and processes
- Ability to prioritize resources to ensure productivity of personnel
- Problem Solving - Ability to analyze information and evaluate results to choose the best solution and solve problems
- Critical Thinking – Using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems.
- Personnel Management – Knowledge of principles and procedures for personnel recruitment, selection, training, and performance management.

OTHER QUALIFICATIONS
- Forklift / Aerial Lift Trainer a plus
- Confined Space, OSHA HAZWOPER, Shipyard Competent Person a plus
LANGUAGE SKILLS ABILITY The ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, and governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, employees and the general public.
COMPUTER SKILLS
To perform this job successfully, an individual must have excellent computer skills and display proficiency in MS Suite (Word/Excel/Outlook/PowerPoint) and scheduling and/or project management software. The ability to learn new software or apps quickly.
REASONING ABILITY The ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Pay Transparency Disclosure: The base pay range offered for this exempt Salary position is $115K to $140K annually. These figures represent what Lind Marine reasonably expect to pay for this position, but actual compensation offered will depend on numerous job-related factors, including but not limited to qualifications, skills, experience, location, education, and market data. Lind Marine reserves the right to modify the range in the future.
