PURPOSE:

Receptionist for Fort Leonard Wood School of Nursing office. Program liaison to main campus, Truman Education Center Personnel, and other colleges within the Truman Education Center. Student advisor for admission, records, student accounts and financial aid processes. Administrative support for nursing and adjunct faculty. Other duties as directed by the AAS Program Coordinator or the Department Head for the School of Nursing.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  1. Greet all office visitors, answer the telephone; provide information about the Lincoln University Nursing Programs; schedule appointments for nursing program coordinator and nursing faculty; assist program coordinator as needed.
  2. Process ArmyIgnitED electronic tuition assistance requests and other forms of tuition assistance (admission and enrollment), maintain inventory, submit requests for supplies, update printed materials, update student handbook.
  3. Assist students with admission procedures for University and School of Nursing.
  4. Assist with support services in the areas of admissions, continuing education, counseling, testing, financial aid, records, and student accounts.
  5. Maintain student academic records for FLW. Copy and collate tests, handouts and syllabi for faculty.
  6. Receive and distribute mail for the Fort Leonard Wood campus.
  7. Print, inventory, and update brochures, nursing paperwork, applications, orientation packets, and student handbook and course schedules as directed by the nursing program coordinator.
  8. Print, inventory, and update recruitment materials for various events.
  9. Attend recruitment events as needed or directed by the program coordinator for nursing.
  10. Coordinate post passes for visitors and students.
  11. Maintain social media accounts for Lincoln University Fort Leonard Wood.
  12. Maintain office supply and electronics inventory. Submit requests for office supplies.
  13. Assist students with navigation of the self-service system as needed.
  14. Interact with Truman Education Center personnel regarding classroom assignments, tuition assistance and education policies.
  15. Work closely and communicate with Military Affairs Coordinator regarding tuition assistant.
  16. Assist with combined college graduation, LU graduation and pinning, to include but not limited to checking pins/lamps, measuring and ordering of caps and gowns, coordinate photographer, creating the class slide show, creating the ceremony program.
  17. Prepare Lincoln University display for Army Education Week each November.
  18. Serve as a proctor for the Math Placement Exam and Missouri Constitution Exam.

ADDITIONAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or equivalent with five years administrative experience.
  • Experience in higher education preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Personal Characteristics:

  • Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving abilities are required.
  • Proficient in all Microsoft systems.
  • Knowledge of Colleague (data management system) preferred.
  • Utilize Colleague for entry of a variety of student information.
  • Able to work independently.
  • Ability to greet all office visitors; conduct telephone business professionally; articulate accurate verbal and written information regarding Lincoln University's nursing programs.
  • Proficiency in scheduling and maintaining electronic calendars.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Light sedentary office work.
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 lbs.
