What are the responsibilities and job description for the Tree climbers & Ground workers position at Lincoln Tree Service?
A tree climber will use sophisticated climbing and rigging techniques to cut away dead or excess branches from trees or shrubs to maintain right-of-way for roads, sidewalks, or utilities, or to improve appearance, health, and value of the tree. Handsaws, chainsaws, hand pruners and clippers are examples of the equipment used in this position. The climber will work off the ground in the tree canopy and may use truck-mounted lifts on some occasions. Previous experience is not necessary, as we will train the right person.
A ground worker works from the ground position to trim or reshape trees or bushes to achieve attractive shapes, to remove low-hanging branches, or to maintain the health of the tree. The ground worker will collect debris and refuse from tree trimming and removal operations into piles, using shovels, rakes or other tools, and will operate shredding and chipping equipment to feed limbs and brush into the machines. The ground worker will also hoist tools and equipment to tree climbers and lower branches with ropes or block and tackle.
A valid driver's license is required for both positions.
