Position Summary
We are seeking a skilled Mold Maker to join our team. The Mold Maker will be responsible for building, assembling, maintaining, and repairing precision molds and tooling used in injection molding and related processes. This role requires strong machining skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently as well as within a team.
Key Responsibilities
- Build, assemble, and repair molds, dies, and tooling according to engineering drawings and specifications.
- Operate a variety of machines, including mills, lathes, surface grinders, EDM, and CNC equipment.
- Perform mold polishing, fitting, and finishing work.
- Troubleshoot tooling and mold performance issues; make necessary adjustments and repairs.
- Collaborate with engineering and production teams to improve mold design and efficiency.
- Ensure proper preventive maintenance of molds and tooling.
- Maintain high standards of quality, accuracy, and safety in all tasks.
Qualifications
- Minimum 3–5 years of mold making or tool & die experience
- Apprenticeship or Associates Degree in Precision Machining preferred.
- Strong knowledge of precision machining, tool steel, and mold construction.
- Experience with CNC machining and EDM processes preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, CAD drawings, and technical specifications.
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- High attention to detail and craftsmanship. Ability to work with tight tolerances.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
