Job Title: Mechanical Assembler
Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and mechanically skilled Mechanical Assembler to join our production team. This role involves the precise assembly of fixtures and other engineered products using machined parts and purchased components, based on engineering blueprints and technical drawings. The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical interest and aptitude along with experience with hand and power tools, and the ability to interpret technical documents.
Key Responsibilities:
- Read and interpret engineering blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to determine assembly requirements.
- Assemble mechanical fixtures and engineered products using machined parts and purchased components.
- Ensure components are properly aligned, secured, and meet specified tolerances.
- Use hand tools, power tools, measuring devices, and other assembly equipment safely and effectively.
- Hydraulic and pneumatic plumbing of components
- Electrical wiring of components
- Inspect and test completed assemblies for proper function and adherence to specifications.
- Identify and report discrepancies or issues in parts or assembly processes to engineering or supervision.
- Maintain accurate records of work performed, including time, materials, and any deviations from plans.
- Participate in customer qualification runs as needed.
- Follow all safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized work environment.
- Complete other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical training in mechanical assembly or a related field is a plus.
- Experience in mechanical operations or assembly, preferably with engineered products.
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical blueprints and assembly drawings.
- Proficient with mechanical tools and measuring instruments (e.g., calipers, micrometers, torque wrenches).
- Strong attention to detail and quality.
- Good problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Ability to communicate effectively with co-workers, Engineering, Project Management and Supervision.
- We are willing to teach a person with mechanical aptitude and interests. An ability to work with various people towards a common goal is a must.
- Forklift and welding experience is a plus.
Working Conditions:
- Physical demands include standing for extended periods, lifting heavy materials (up to 50 lbs), and operating machinery in a industrial environment.
- This is a full-time position with occasional overtime required to meet production deadlines.
