Key Responsibilities
Develop and implement a Computer Science curriculum aligned with Pennsylvania Academic Standards
Teach Foundational And Advanced Concepts, Including:
Programming (Python, Scratch, JavaScript, or similar)
Digital literacy and responsible technology use
Computational thinking and problem-solving strategies
Introductory cybersecurity and data concepts (as appropriate)
Design project-based learning experiences connected to real-world applications
Differentiate instruction to meet diverse student needs
Integrate technology effectively into daily instruction
Assess student learning through formative and summative assessments
Maintain accurate records of student progress and achievement
Foster a positive, structured, and inclusive classroom environment
Collaborate with faculty and administration on school-wide initiatives
Support student participation in STEM enrichment opportunities
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Education, Information Technology, or a related field
Valid Pennsylvania Instructional Certification (Computer Science 7–12 or equivalent preferred)
Strong knowledge of programming languages and computer science fundamentals
Experience with instructional technology and digital learning tools
Effective classroom management and relationship-building skills
Strong communication and collaboration abilities
Preferred Qualifications
Experience teaching Computer Science at the middle or high school level
Experience with project-based or inquiry-based learning models
