We are currently looking for a Patient Accounts Specialist. The Billing department is vital to our success. As a Patient Account Specialist, you will work alongside our other Billing Specialists, Insurance Verifiers, and our Front Office Support team in an effort to make our billing processes seamless. You will be part of multiple areas of the billing process, from start to finish.
The primary responsibility for this position will be overseeing the patient billing/payment processes. This includes payment-related billing phone calls and being the primary contact person for all in-person questions about patient bills. This includes working personally with patients to establish payment plans, identifying, and resolving errors with billing, and preparing collection actions. This will include contacting patients and insurance companies to correct discrepancies in payments.
Job duties include but are not limited to:
- Manage Billing phone line
- Serve as front desk liason for patient billing questions
- Main contact for patients and staff with billing questions
- Provide billing and insurance guidance to patients
- Research and correct any claim or billing errors
- Work with patient to correct COB errors
- Correct Insurance/Demographic errors for claim resubmission
- Verify Insurances are active
- Collect Telehealth copays in advance
- Managing patient payment plans
- Entering daily patient payments
- Communicating in our Billing text message system
- Calling patients about balances and collections
- Sending patients to Collection Agency as needed
- Primary Collection Agency contact
- Monitor the "Do Not Schedule" list
- Contact Person for In-Person Billing questions
- Ensuring Insurance/Billing related information is accurate in charts
- Balance daily deposit sheets
- Ensuring all charts have updated Alerts to communicate with Front Desk and Billing Team.
Requirements include:
- 1 years of medical billing experience preferred.
- High School diploma or equivalent.
Medical billing can be complex, and we look for a variety of skills, including:
