The Lincoln County Sheriff's Office is looking for a dedicated and conscientious person to join the team as a Support Services Specialist. This person will perform a variety of clerical and other technical tasks requiring considerable knowledge of office policies, procedures, and state and federal laws to support law enforcement members, other agencies and the public related to criminal records, crime reporting, concealed handgun licensing, sex offender registration, fingerprinting, alarm permits, identification and key card issuance, civil process, sheriff's auctions, short term rental licensing, and other programs in the Support Services Division as assigned.
$24.30 - $32.66 per hour*
EDUCATION
High School Diploma / GED
Experience
One-year experience in the criminal justice field.
Substitution Note: Two years of experience using modern computer equipment and software.

- Review and evaluate court documents for proper legal authority, service or enforcement content, proper attachments, fees, and instructions.
- Serve subpoenas and other civil/criminal documents.
- Schedule enforcement activity and conduct sheriff’s sales.
- Handle redemptions and issues sheriff’s deeds.
- Record and processes police reports, citations, and other police documents.
- Perform computer searches and prepares statistical reports.
- Respond to public records requests.
- Write reports to document recovered property or to document other action taken relative to a case.
- Oversee Concealed Handgun Licensing Program.
- Oversee Short Term Rental Licensing Program.
- Aids to Evidence Control Specialist.
- Facilitates Fingerprinting Services.
- Manages Sex Offender Registration.
- Oversees Vehicle Impounds
- Complete financial transactions.
- Retain and purge records in accordance with Oregon law and division retention schedule.
- Participate in community events offsite, presentations, and fingerprinting activities where driving is required.
- Perform Notary Public duties.
EDUCATION
High School Diploma / GED
Experience
One-year experience in the criminal justice field.
Substitution Note: Two years of experience using modern computer equipment and software.
CERTS/LICENSES
- Ability to qualify for LEDS/NCIC certification.
- Oregon motor vehicle license, or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire date, and an insurable driving record.
- Interpret and apply applicable Federal State and local laws, rules, regulations, and policies.
