POSITION: JV COMPETITIVE CHEER COACH - LINCOLN HIGH SCHOOL

SUMMARY

Position is responsible for coaching student athletes in game strategies and techniques to prepare them for athletic competition. Position motivates student athletes to develop an appreciation of the sport.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Possess a high school diploma
• Knowledge of the sport
• • Deep understanding of scoring rubrics and regulations to design routines that maximize a team's specific strengths
• Ability to prepare students to participate in the sport in a competitive and sportsmanlike way.
• • Ability to teach stunts and tumbling through safe, step-by-step progressions, ensuring athletes master basics before attempting advanced skills.
• Consistently promotes fairness, respect, and multiple perspectives in all responsibilities
• Experience as a head coach or assistant coach.
• Relate to young people in a positive manner.
• Meet requirements for public school employment.
• Maintaining constant supervision; staying current with CPR/First Aid and emergency action plans.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distant vision and the ability to adjust focus. The ability to travel to other buildings is required. The position requires the individual to sometimes work irregular or extended work hours and meet multiple demands from several people.
