Position Summary: The Lincoln Children’s Zoo is seeking highly motivated and enthusiastic individuals to join the Zoo Lights take down team. The Zoo Lights Aerial Lift Operator will be responsible for de-assembling lights, displays, and other decorations for the Zoo. This seasonal position will run from January 5th, 2026 through early April 2026. The anticipated working schedule will be Monday through Friday, 7:00am to 3:30pm.
Essential Job Functions
- Safely operate and use a 45-foot aerial lift to install lights on trees, bushes, fences, and other elevated surfaces through the Zoo.
- Uphold the Zoo’s safety policies and procedures to ensure guest safety while operating the aerial lift.
- Provide guests with basic zoo information, directions, and assistance as needed.
- Assist with event setup, including installation of lights and loading and unloading items from the lift.
- Perform basic daily maintenance and cleaning of the lift and platform area.
- Monitor lift functions, perform visual safety checks and report any mechanical concerns immediately.
- Communicate frequently with Zoo Lights staff via radio or intercom.
- All other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid drivers license.
- Valid OSHA Aerial Lift Certification preferred but not required. Onsite training is available.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.

Working Environment
While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be exposed to both indoor and outdoor conditions. Exposure to inclement weather, rough terrain, dust, dirt, and other allergens are common. Winter conditions often include snow and ice. Conditions may be slippery due to wet surfaces, snow, ice, mud or loose gravel, sand, and dirt. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate but can increase to a loud volume.
