We are seeking a detail-oriented Assistant Controller/Accounting Specialist to support our accounting team with daily accounting operations. This role plays a key part in ensuring accurate financial data and seamless month-end closing processes with a highly Excel-driven environment. Reconciliations are routine and the position requires a high level of analytical skill. The ideal candidate will thrive in a dynamic manufacturing setting and help strengthen our financial controls. This role will report directly to the Plant Controller.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily and monthly accounting tasks, including general ledger entries, accruals, and journal entries.
• Prepare and maintain account reconciliations in Microsoft OneStream for all balance sheet accounts
• Support month-end and year-end close processes.
• Assist with accounts payable, accounts receivable and cash application.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather data and support departmental financial needs.
• Maintain accurate documentation and follow established accounting policies and procedures.
• Support audits by preparing schedules and responding to requests.
• Track and report all capital projects completed in the facility
• Support the Controller in performing internal and external inquiries and documentation, ad hoc projects.
• Other duties as assigned.

Academic Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or related field required.

Required Skills & Experience

• 3 to 5 years of accounting experience in an industrial environment preferred.
• Strong proficiency in Excel (VLOOKUP, pivot tables, formulas).
• Familiarity with Plex ERP financial/manufacturing system (or willingness to learn).
• Analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to work independently and handle multiple priorities

Working Conditions

• 40 hours per week
• In office, Production area as required.
• Monday to Friday
