Job Summary
We are seeking an energetic and detail-oriented Dispatcher to coordinate daily transportation operations. In this vital role, you will manage the scheduling and dispatching of fleet vehicles, ensure timely freight delivery, and communicate effectively with drivers . Your proactive approach will help optimize routes, improve logistics workflows, and maintain high service standards.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate and assign dispatch tasks to drivers using transportation management systems and GPS technology
- Monitor fleet movements in real-time via GIS (Geographic Information Systems) and GPS tracking tools
- Communicate with drivers through multi-line phone systems, ensuring clear instructions and updates
- Support transportation planning by analyzing routes, traffic patterns, and delivery schedules to enhance efficiency
- Ensure compliance with safety protocols and company policies during dispatching activities
Requirements
- Familiarity with GIS, GPS technology, and fleet management tools to monitor vehicle locations and performance
- Excellent communication skills with professional phone etiquette and clear verbal skills
- Proficiency in data entry and typing accuracy
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Must be available to manage emergency situations, reroute buses, or coordinate rescue operations during off-hours
