Compensation
We expect the base salary for this role to fall between $93,000–$125,000 USD per year, along with bonus potential and generous early equity. The final offer will reflect your unique background, expertise, and impact.

We are seeking a Mechatronics Engineer to design, build, and test prototypes of next-generation scientific instruments to enable high throughput experimentation in AI enabled science factory. You’ll collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of field leading scientists and engineers to translate novel research concepts into functional prototypes.
What You'll Be Building
- Design, build, and test mechatronic systems for scientific instruments In fast paced, dynamic startup environment
- Develop and test actuators, sensors, control systems, and precision mechanisms.
- Collaborate with scientists, mechanical engineers, and process engineers to develop prototype instruments that produce quality scientific data
- Document designs, test results, and lessons learned to support future development and manufacturability.
- Troubleshoot prototypes, diagnose failures, and design improvements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechatronics, Robotics, Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, Material Science, or related field
- At least 2 years of hands-on experience designing, wiring, and programming prototype equipment
- Experience working in fast paced, iterative design and test environment
- Experience designing electrical safety systems such as e-stops
- Familiarity with signal processing and data acquisition
- Strong programming skills in C/C and Python
- Strong experience with git and modern version control practices
- Strong problem-solving skills, creativity, and adaptability
- Comfort with interdisciplinary collaboration in a research-driven environment
- Experience setting up CI/CD pipelines
- Proficiency with CAD software (SolidWorks, Fusion 360, or similar).
- Experience designing custom PCBs
- Familiarity working with electrochemistry instruments such as potentiostats
- Knowledge of microfluidics
- Experience with design for manufacturability (DFM) and transition from prototype to product
- AI experimental design and simulation
- Automated custom instrumentation
- Generative molecular and material design
