As Lila’s Head of Design, you will lead Lila’s product and industrial design, shaping user journeys across the Lila App, and the Autonomous Science labs that, together, will power and achieve Scientific Superintelligence. Compensation
We expect the base salary for this role to fall between $260,000-346,000 USD per year, along with bonus potential and generous early equity. The final offer will reflect your unique background, expertise, and impact.

What You'll Be Building
- The vision for and the execution of a coherent, brand-aligned design across digital and physical products
- End-to-end design of native app to power scientists
- Wireframes, interactive prototypes, and high-fidelity designs that translate user needs into clear interfaces.
- A cohesive design system, including components, guidelines, and documentation for consistency and scalability.
- Collaborative feedback loops with engineers, data scientists, and product managers to refine and implement designs.
- 8 years of experience in digital product design, preferably in SaaS or data-intensive applications.
- Strong portfolio demonstrating a range of work from research and wireframing to polished visual designs.
- Proficiency with design tools such as Figma, Sketch, or Adobe XD, and modern LLM-generated rapid prototypes
- Deep understanding of interaction design, information architecture, and accessibility best practices.
- Extreme openness to leveraging the latest AI tools to redefine how your profession operates
- Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset, able to present and iterate on designs based on feedback.
- Experience in life sciences, biotech, or scientific research software.
- Familiarity with data visualization libraries or principles (e.g., D3.js, Chart.js, Plotly).
- Basic front-end prototyping skills (HTML/CSS/JavaScript).
- Prior involvement in building or scaling a design system.
