Role Description The Educational Director is a full-time, on-site role located in Bronx, NY, responsible for overseeing the educational program and ensuring a high-quality learning environment. This role includes designing, implementing, and evaluating age-appropriate curricula that meet regulatory standards and reflect best practices in early childhood education. The Educational Director will supervise and coach teaching staff, conduct classroom observations, and provide ongoing feedback and professional development. Day-to-day tasks include coordinating lesson plans, monitoring children’s developmental progress, maintaining compliance with licensing and health regulations, and supporting positive family engagement. The Educational Director will also collaborate with leadership on program improvements, manage educational resources, and help maintain a safe, inclusive, and culturally responsive environment.
Qualifications
- Strong background in Education with knowledge of early childhood development and learning standards.
- Demonstrated experience in Educational Management and Team Management, including supervising and mentoring educators.
- Proficiency in Curriculum Development, including planning, implementing, and assessing age-appropriate programs.
- Excellent Communication skills for collaborating with staff, engaging families, and working with external partners and regulators.
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Early Childhood Education, Education, Child Development, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
- Familiarity with state licensing requirements, health and safety standards, and quality rating systems for child care centers.
- Ability to organize multiple priorities, maintain accurate documentation, and use basic technology tools for planning and reporting.
- Prior experience in a child care, preschool, or early learning center leadership role is strongly preferred.
