The Role
We are looking for a Senior Packaging Designer with a strong point of view, refined taste, and deep experience in packaging design and branding for physical products.
This is not a generalist role. We need someone who understands how design translates into real, tangible packaging from concept through production.
You will lead creative direction on projects, develop brand systems for packaging, and work alongside our production team to ensure every design is executed at the highest level.
What We’re Looking For
• A designer with strong aesthetics and a clear design perspective
• Deep experience in packaging design, branding, and visual systems
• Ability to take a concept from idea → rendering → production-ready execution
• Strong understanding of materials, finishes, and how design decisions impact cost and manufacturing
• Someone who wants to push the boundaries of packaging and bring new ideas into the space
• A self-starter who wants to grow with a company and help build something meaningful
Responsibilities
• Lead packaging design projects from concept through production
• Develop brand guidelines specifically for packaging systems
• Create high-quality renderings and visual presentations (rendering is mandatory)
• Pitch and present creative concepts to clients
• Collaborate closely with production artists and structural teams
• Ensure design intent carries through development, sampling, and production
• Guide and support junior creatives on execution and file prep
• Build timelines and manage projects across multiple phases
Qualifications
• 5 years of experience focused specifically on packaging design
• Strong portfolio showing packaging from concept through final execution
• Proven ability to develop branding for physical products
• Advanced skills in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign)
• Strong understanding of typography, layout, and print production
• Experience with dielines and production-ready artwork
• Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
Important Notes
• Portfolio must clearly show packaging projects from concept through renderings and production
• This is an on-site role in Pasadena, CA with one remote day per week
• We are only considering candidates based in Los Angeles
Why This Role
You won’t just be executing design, you’ll be helping shape the creative direction of a growing agency.
If you’re someone who wants to push packaging beyond the expected and build work you’re proud of, we want to see your portfolio.
Portfolio Requirement
A portfolio is required for consideration. Applications submitted without a portfolio will not be reviewed. Your portfolio must be clearly presented and properly formatted, showcasing packaging projects from concept through renderings and final production.
