What are the responsibilities and job description for the Lens Cleaning Technician position at Lightpath Technologies Inc?
LightPath Technologies is looking for Lens Cleaning Technician to work 1st shift in our Clean Room. Our company works on a 9/80 work schedule with hours from 6:00am - 3:30pm Monday - Thursday and 6:00am - 2:30pm on Fridays with every other Friday off. Your day will include preparing optics for coating production per work order and schedule. Clean and inspect parts and perform QA and incoming inspection.
Responsibilities:
- Incoming Inspection
- Unpackaging lenses
- Pre-cleaning delicate optical lenses
- Keep track of serial number on optics and record accordingly
- Inspect, final wipe, and load optics for coating production per schedule
- Operate Ultrasonic machine
- Drying washed lenses
- Final Inspection
- Packaging of finished lenses
- Hand wash new and stripped parts
- Follow the 5S program guidelines
- Perform other duties as assigned
Special Authority:
- Stop any nonconforming process(es) which may affect safety, poor quality or customer satisfaction
- Report any halted nonconforming process(es) to production manager, quality department, and/or process engineer.

- Occasional standing, reaching with hands and arms, climbing or balancing and stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling
- Must regularly lift and /or move up to 50 pounds
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus
- Occasional exposure to the following: work near moving mechanical parts, toxic or caustic chemicals, risk of electrical shock, and risk of radiation.
- Able to work with moderate level of noise
- Must be able to read, write, and speak fluently in English
Minimum previous experience/qualification:
- High school diploma or GED and six (6) months to one (1) year of related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of experience and education.
- Must be authorized to work and reside in the US and must be eligible for any required authorizations from the U.S. Government to confirm with but not limited to U.S. export control regulations (ITAR), but not limited to U.S. export (ITAR) guidelines.
