What are the responsibilities and job description for the Social Program Instructor position at Lighthouse Living Services, INC?
Want to help others and feel appreciated while doing it? We are looking for a responsible, outgoing and FUN person to be a social program instructor for adults with intellectual disabilities in the Oroville area. The goal of our program is to teach basic social skills while having a great time! This position requires patience and the desire to be a good role model. Instructors are responsible for teaching social skills in a small group setting while doing fun things in the community (bowling, going to movies, social dining outings, etc) in addition to providing transportation (mileage reimbursed at .72.5 cents per mile if you drive your own vehicle) and scheduling pick up times for events. Most outings occur on Friday evenings and Saturdays, though the occasional weekday evening may be required. This position is typically around 10-15 hours per week. Applicant must be available starting no later than 5pm, and all day on Saturday.
Experience as a camp counselor, youth group leader or other group facilitation is a plus, but not required! Applicant must have reliable transportation and will be required to pass a Department Of Justice background check, provide proof of auto insurance, and obtain CPR certification within 30 days of hire.
