The Human Resources Specialist provides administrative and operational support to the Human Resources department and assists with plant and office HR activities. This role supports the HR Generalist in delivering HR services including recruiting coordination, onboarding, employee engagement, recordkeeping, and general administrative support across departments.
This position also serves as a support resource to the plant operations team and assists with employee communication and HR program execution.
The HR Coordinator administers HR policies and procedures related to employee records and ensures accuracy, confidentiality, and compliance in all HR-related documentation and processes.
EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor's degree in human resources, Business Administration, or related field.
Relevant HR internship or administrative experience preferred.
ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS: (Preferred qualifications, certifications, and/or licenses)
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Experience with HR systems (e.g., ADP, SAP) preferred
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
- Detail-oriented with ability to manage multiple prioritie
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Recruiting & Onboarding
- Assists with recruiting activities including scheduling interviews and tracking applicants
- Prepares and coordinates New Hire Orientation and onboarding materials
- Issues employment-related correspondence (offer, confirmation, and regret letters)
HR Administration & Employee Records
- Maintains employee personnel files and HR records with accuracy and confidentiality
- Updates employee information in HR/payroll systems (e.g., ADP/SAP)
- Tracks attendance, corrective actions, and other employee documentation
Employee Engagement & Communication
- Supports employee engagement activities and events
- Prepares and posts employee communications and HR notices
- Assists with employee relations initiatives as needed
Office & Plant Support
- Answers HR phone calls and routes inquiries appropriately
- Supports plant and HR leadership with administrative tasks and orders/supplies
- Initiates purchase requisitions and assist with office coordination needs
Reporting & Compliance
- Compiles basic attendance and HR reports
- Ensures HR records and documentation meet company and compliance standards
- Maintains confidentiality in all HR-related matters
GENERAL EXPECTATIONS:
- Demonstrate effective communications (verbal, written) skills
- Proficient with MS Office Word and Excel
- Maintain discretion when working with confidential and proprietary information
