Duties
- Design and deliver interactive SAT and ACT test prep classes tailored to diverse student needs
- Develop and implement effective lesson plans that incorporate current testing strategies, curriculum standards, and learning technology tools
- Assess student progress regularly through quizzes, practice tests, and feedback sessions to ensure continuous improvement
- Utilize classroom management techniques to create a positive, focused learning atmosphere
- Adapt teaching approaches for students with special education needs or varying learning styles
- Incorporate presentation skills to clearly explain complex concepts in math, reading, writing, and science sections of the exams
- Collaborate with colleagues to refine curriculum development and share best practices for working with students of different backgrounds and skill levels
Requirements
- Proven classroom experience in tutoring or teaching high school students, especially in test preparation or related subjects
- Strong knowledge of the SAT and ACT exam formats, content, and scoring strategies
- Excellent presentation skills with the ability to engage students actively and foster a motivating learning environment
- Experience with learning technology platforms and digital tools for lesson planning and student assessment
- Background in math, reading comprehension, writing skills, or education—preferably with classroom management expertise
- Ability to work effectively with students from diverse backgrounds, including those requiring special education accommodations
