As an Software Engineer Intern, you will gain hands-on software development experience while contributing to real-world projects on one of Lightcast's API development teams. Working alongside experienced engineers and cross-functional partners, you will support the design, development, testing, and documentation of software solutions while building your technical skills and solving meaningful engineering challenges.

Major Responsibilities:
- Support engineering projects through research, design, development, testing, and documentation
- Collaborate with engineers, technical teams, and project managers to achieve project goals
- Participate in the design, prototyping, and scoping of engineering solutions
- Prepare technical documentation related to engineering projects and processes
- Identify and troubleshoot technical issues and develop solutions with guidance from experienced engineers
- Participate in training and development opportunities to expand technical knowledge and engineering skills
- Pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Engineering, or a related field preferred
- Experience with one or more programming languages such as Python, Go, JavaScript, Rust, or C
- Understanding of basic software engineering principles, data structures, and algorithms
- Familiarity with database concepts, including SQL, NoSQL, and relational databases
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively within a team
- Eager to learn, adaptable, and able to quickly develop new technical skills
