Responsibilities
- Provide direct support and assistance to clients in daily living activities, including personal hygiene, grooming, and dressing.
- Assist with meal preparation and ensure that dietary needs are met.
- Observe and report any changes in clients' physical or emotional conditions to appropriate healthcare professionals.
- Support clients in engaging in social activities and community involvement.
- Maintain a safe and clean environment for clients, ensuring that all necessary supplies are available.
- Foster a positive relationship with clients by encouraging independence while providing necessary support.
- Document care provided and any observations regarding client behavior or health status as required.
Requirements
- Previous experience in caregiving or direct support roles is preferred, particularly with individuals who have developmental disabilities.
- Background in home health, nursing home, or group home settings is advantageous.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with clients, families, and team members.
- Knowledge of meal preparation techniques suitable for diverse dietary needs.
- Ability to perform patient observation tasks accurately and responsibly.
