Job Summary
Lifted & Lowered Golf Carts is seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Service Writer to join our service department. In this vital role, you will serve as the primary point of contact for customers bringing their golf carts in for maintenance and repairs. Your enthusiasm and expertise will ensure a smooth, efficient process from vehicle check-in to completion, helping customers understand their service needs while promoting additional services. Duties
- Greet customers warmly and listen carefully to their golf cart concerns to accurately document service needs
- Explain repair estimates, service procedures, and recommended maintenance options clearly and confidently
- Collaborate with technicians to prioritize repairs and ensure timely completion of services
- Upsell additional services such as oil changes, tire rotations, alignments, brake repairs, and transmission work to enhance customer satisfaction and vehicle performance
- Manage all aspects of estimating using dealership or shop management software, including parts and labor costs
- Handle cash transactions, process payments accurately, and maintain detailed records of all service activities
- Coordinate with parts departments to ensure timely availability of necessary components for repairs
- Set up delivery’s and coordinate with delivery drivers for incoming and outgoing deliveries.
Requirements
- Proven dealership experience or background in auto service management is highly preferred
- Strong knowledge of automotive/golf cart diagnostics, mechanical systems, and vehicle maintenance procedures
- Experience working with mechanics or service technicians on various repairs including transmissions, oil changes, brake repair, suspension, shocks & struts, tire service, diesel engine repair, air brake systems, and auto body repair
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly and professionally
- Familiarity with auto estimating tools and automotive repair processes is essential
- Ability to upsell services effectively while maintaining integrity and customer trust
- Mechanical knowledge combined with experience in auto sales or automobile sales is a plus
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in cash handling and record keeping
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record is often required
