Lifeworks is hiring a full time Autism Support Specialist to work with Individuals with ID/DD. We are a nonprofit human service agency that provides adults with developmental disabilities the opportunity to live engaged and meaningful lives. We're searching for an enthusiastic individual who will bring their personality, an independent work ethic, and a strong belief in enhancing the lives of those we serve.

Essential Duties

• Help develop, organize and facilitate activities and programs, both at our center and in the community.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule (occasional nights & weekends) to meet the needs of individuals and facilitate programs.
• Meet with new and existing referrals to assist with benefits applications and informational resources.
• Assist in the facilitation of workshops & trainings on topics pertinent to the ASD population.
• Develop material and outreach efforts, including newsletters, community offerings and current research.
• Help form community collaborations and partnerships that benefit those we serve.
• Excellent interpersonal skills.
• Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks with attention to detail.
• Ability to work in a team environment.
• Occasional travel throughout the Newton/South Norfolk & Metro-Boston area.
  
  

Requirements

• Experience working with Individuals with ID/DD
• A Bachelor's degree
• Must be able to pass Fingerprint background check, CORI, DPPC and Driving background checks
• Valid Driver's License required
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
