Duties

• Assist individuals with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support
• Monitor patient health by observing behavior and reporting changes to healthcare teams
• Support medication administration following HIPAA guidelines and care plans
• Prepare nutritious meals and assist with cooking to meet dietary needs and preferences
• Maintain a clean, safe environment through regular cleaning routines and adherence to infection control protocols
• Document care activities accurately in compliance with HIPAA regulations and organizational policies
• Provide emotional support and companionship to promote mental well-being, especially for individuals with dementia or Alzheimer’s disease
• Participate in training to enhance your caregiving skills
• Collaborate with team members to develop and implement individualized care plans tailored to each person’s needs

Skills

• Experience in group homes, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home health environments, or willingness to learn
• Knowledge of patient observation techniques and monitoring vital signs accurately, or willingness to learn
• Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations to ensure confidentiality of patient information, or willingness to learn.
• Excellent communication skills for working effectively with individuals with developmental disabilities or autism spectrum disorder
• Compassionate attitude with patience for working with developmental disabilities or mental health diagnosis.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating within a team of healthcare professionals
