Responsibilities
- Support clients during community outings and transportation, ensuring safety and engagement at all times.
- Implement behavior management strategies tailored to individual needs, encouraging positive behaviors and social interactions.
- Collect data on client progress, behaviors, and activities to inform care plans and track development over time.
- Assist with medication administration following prescribed protocols when necessary and authorized.
- Support clients with special education needs or behavioral health challenges through engaging activities that promote growth and learning.
Skills
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, autism, or other disabilities in home or community settings.
- Strong understanding of behavioral health principles and behavior management techniques.
- Excellent communication skills,both verbal and non-verbal.
- Ability to operate a vehicle safely for transportation duties; valid driver’s license required.
- Compassionate caregiving skills with a focus on assisting with ADLs and promoting independence.
- Experience in data collection, documentation, and maintaining accurate records related to client progress and medication administration.
