What are the responsibilities and job description for the Economic Empowerment Mentor position at LifeWorks Community Action?
The Economic Empowerment Mentor is part of a team who employ evidence-based family support services, including case coordination and one on one coaching, grounded in principles of Trauma Informed Care, Unconditional Positive Regard, and Coaching in order to assist families in establishing household stability and working toward economic mobility.
Knowledge, skills and abilities:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Human Services, Social Work or relevant field. Fieldwork or other relevant work experience preferred.
- Knowledge of community services and experience or knowledge of trauma-informed practices, family strengths/family centered practice preferred.
- Must have knowledge of issues faced by low-income population and understanding of local healthcare and social service resources as well as governmental and social services programs.
Candidate must be friendly, caring and professional and be able to demonstrate effective crisis management, good judgment, and have excellent communication skills. We are customer/participant focused and seek an applicant who desires to make an impact in the lives of our neighbors in need.
This position requires regular travel to make contact with staff, families, and other agencies.
There will be a legally permissible background check for the successful candidate.
