Position Summary

The Community Revitalization Coordinator is responsible for assisting program delivery, alliance outreach, grant coordination, and daily operations that advance the organization's mission to strengthen the local economy and revitalize communities throughout Schoharie County. This position blends strong administrative and organizational skills with business development and community engagement, serving as the entry-level operational backbone for a small, mission-driven nonprofit.

Working closely with the Senior Program Administrator, Director of Collective Impact, Finance Associate, Executive Director, Board of Directors, community partners, businesses, local governments, and residents, the coordinator helps transform ideas into action through projects, supporting strategic initiatives, fostering collaboration, and tracking measurable outcomes. The ideal candidate is highly organized, relationship-oriented, proactive, and committed to creating lasting impact in rural communities.

Essential Responsibilities

Program & Project Coordination

  • Assist economic development, community revitalization, and organizational initiatives from planning through implementation.
  • Maintain project timelines, work plans, and deliverables to ensure initiatives stay on schedule.

· Support the planning and implementation of strategic initiatives by coordinating activities, tracking progress, and following up on action items.

  • Assist with business retention, expansion, entrepreneurship, workforce development, and community improvement efforts.
  • Coordinate meetings, workshops, events, and stakeholder engagement activities.

Administrative & Organizational Support

  • Support the day-to-day administrative operations of the organization and 287 Main coworking hub.
  • Prepare board and committee meeting materials, agendas, minutes, and follow-up action items.
  • Maintain organizational records, databases, and filing systems.
  • Assist with budget tracking, grant administration, contracts, and reporting requirements.
  • Coordinate office systems and administrative processes that improve organizational efficiency.

Business & Community Engagement

  • Build and maintain positive working relationships with coworkers, businesses, community organizations, municipal leaders, educational institutions, and regional alliances.
  • Serve as a point of contact for community members, business owners, and program collaborators.
  • Assist in identifying opportunities for collaboration, investment, and community revitalization.

· Support outreach and relationship-building with businesses, municipalities, regional alliances, community organizations, educational institutions, and other strategic partners.

Grant & Resource Development

  • Assist with researching funding opportunities.
  • Support grant writing, application preparation, and grant reporting.
  • Track grant deliverables and reporting deadlines.

Data & Impact Measurement

· Assist with collecting, maintaining, and analyzing program data and performance metrics to support reporting, evaluate outcomes, and demonstrate community impact.

  • Assist with preparing reports demonstrating organizational outcomes and community impact.

Qualifications

Required

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, Community Development, Economic Development, Accounting, Communications, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • One to three years of experience in a nonprofit organization, project coordination, community/economic development, local government, business operations, or a related field.
  • Strong organizational and project coordination skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and standard business software.

Preferred

  • Experience with bookkeeping, grant administration or grant writing.
  • Experience coordinating community events or collaborative projects.
  • Interest in community development, local government or nonprofit operations.

Compensation & Benefits

· Salary range: $45,000 - $55,000 based on experience.
