Shift: 4 10 hour night shift, Sunday-Wednesday or Wednesday-Saturday

What You’ll Do:

As a Direct Care Worker in our Crisis Residential Unit, you’ll be the heart of support for individuals facing mental health challenges. You’ll play a vital role in creating a safe, welcoming, and empowering environment by:

• Providing calm, compassionate, and respectful care at all times.

• Supporting residents with activities of daily living (ADLs), including hygiene, cooking, and mobility.

• Encouraging meaningful engagement and helping individuals identify personal goals, strengths, and interests.

• Monitoring safety with regular checks and providing hands-on support as needed.

• Assisting with medication administration and documentation.

• Facilitating therapeutic and educational groups.

• Collaborating with a multidisciplinary team of clinicians, nurses, and mental health professionals.

• Supporting crisis intervention and de-escalation efforts with empathy and skill.

• Promoting recovery, resilience, and community integration.

Key Responsibilities:

• Foster trusting relationships through consistent, empathetic communication.

• Respond effectively to individuals in crisis, using non-restrictive interventions.

• Document progress, shift updates, and incident reports in our EMR (LEO).

• Assist with developing coping skills, community living skills, and access to resources.

• Encourage participation in meaningful activities, education, and employment.

• Support consumers and their families in navigating the mental health system.

What You Bring:

• Passion for helping others and making a difference in mental health care.

• Ability to remain calm under pressure and respond compassionately to individuals in crisis.

• Commitment to person-centered care and trauma-informed practices.

• Strong communication, teamwork, and organizational skills.

• Willingness to learn and implement emergency procedures and interventions.

• Experience in behavioral health is a plus—but more importantly, a desire to grow and support others is essential.

Required Education/Certification/Licensure

• Has High school diploma or equivalent
• Is at least 18 years of age
• Must possess a valid U.S. motor vehicle operator’s license, and successfully complete motor vehicle record check
• Upon hire must:
  • Become certified in First Aid and CPR with AED
  • Become certified in agency approved de-escalation model (CPI, QBS, etc.)

Preferred Education/Certification/Licensure

• Certified Nurse Aide or Certified Medical Assistant
• Associate’s degree
