What are the responsibilities and job description for the Inside Sales & Business Development Rep position at Lifetime Door Co?
The Inside Sales and Business Development Rep will play a critical role in driving the sales growth of our garage door company by proactively engaging with customers, providing product information, and delivering exceptional service. This position requires a motivated, results-driven individual with strong communication skills and a solid understanding of garage door products and services. Experience working with residential builders is an advantage.
You will be at the front line of revenue generation, proactively identifying new opportunities, engaging prospective customers, and driving pipeline growth. You will partner closely with internal teams to introduce solutions, educate customers on products and services, and create meaningful connections that convert into long-term business relationships. There is a mix of inbound and outbound in this role.
What makes this opportunity unique is the exposure beyond a traditional inside sales role. You will have the opportunity to join Territory Sales Managers in the field, attend customer meetings, and gain real-world sales experience that most inside roles do not offer. This creates a clear path for development and progression into a full territory role over time.
Key Responsibilities/Duties:
- Customer Engagement: Respond to inbound customer inquiries via phone, email, and chat. Understand customer needs and recommend suitable garage door solutions (residential, commercial, repairs, etc.).
- Build and Maintain Relationships: with residential builders through consistent cold calling and outreach, driving new business and long-term partnerships (40 cold calls a day)
- Lead Qualification: Qualify leads by assessing customer requirements and determining the best product offerings, upselling and cross-selling as appropriate.
- Sales Support: Assist customers with product selection, pricing, and ordering, ensuring accuracy in quotes and sales order details.
- Sales Administration: Maintain detailed and accurate records of customer interactions, sales activity, and order history in the company’s CRM system.
- Product Knowledge: Stay updated on the full range of garage door products, services, and industry trends to provide accurate information and troubleshoot customer concerns.
- Follow-up: Proactively follow up on sales quotes, inquiries, and prospects to convert them into completed sales.
- Collaboration: Work closely with the field sales team, installation, and customer service teams to ensure customer satisfaction and timely service.
- Sales Targets: Meet and exceed monthly sales targets and KPIs, contributing to the overall growth of the company
