- The Residential Specialist - Shift 1 at LIFESTREAM BEHAVIORAL CENTER is responsible for providing comprehensive support and assistance to residents within a behavioral health setting. The role is pivotal in ensuring the safety, well-being, and personal development of residents while maintaining a structured and therapeutic environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor and supervise residents during assigned shift to ensure safety and adherence to center policies.
- Facilitate and engage residents in daily activities and therapeutic programs to promote personal growth and development.
- Assist in the implementation of individualized care plans by providing support and guidance tailored to each resident's needs.
- Conduct regular room checks and maintain accurate documentation of resident behavior and incidents.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members to communicate resident progress and address any concerns.
- Provide crisis intervention and conflict resolution as needed to maintain a harmonious living environment.
- Ensure cleanliness and orderliness of the living quarters and common areas.
- Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge.
- Uphold the confidentiality and dignity of all residents in accordance with organizational and legal standards.
- High school diploma or equivalent is required.
- Associate degree in psychology, social work, or a related field is preferred.
Required Experience:
- Minimum of one year of experience working in a residential or behavioral health setting.
- Experience in crisis intervention and de-escalation techniques.
- Previous experience in a role involving direct client care and support.
Required Skills and Abilities:
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively interact with clients, families, and team members.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards in a behavioral health environment.
- Proficient in basic computer applications and documentation software.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to manage stressful situations calmly and effectively.
- Ability to follow established protocols and procedures for client care and safety.
