- Provides immediate, on-site crisis intervention services to individuals experiencing acute psychological distress. This includes individuals experiencing anxiety, suicidal ideation, self-harming behaviors, severe depressive symptoms, or an inability to cope with overwhelming life stressors. The Responder serves as the first line of support, offering compassionate de-escalation, therapeutic guidance, and stabilization during moments of emotional crisis. The primary goal of this role is to reduce immediate risk, restore emotional balance, and prevent involuntary psychiatric hospitalization (e.g., Baker Act), whenever possible.

- ESSENTIAL SKILLS: Strong knowledge of crisis intervention models, suicide prevention strategies, and mental health stabilization techniques.
- Ability to remain calm, empathetic, and professional under high stress, emotionally charged circumstances.
- Skilled in therapeutic communication, active listening, and rapid rapport-building.
- Competency in teaching immediate coping and calming strategies (e.g., grounding, breathing, reframing).
- Familiarity with community mental health resources, outpatient treatment options, and support networks.
- Commitment to minimizing unnecessary hospitalization by focusing on stabilization and recovery-based care.
- Education: Master's degree in psychology, Behavioral Health, Social Work, Substance Use required
- Experience: Over 5 years of behavioral health/substance use experience.
- Driving Requirements: (May use company auto or own vehicle in safe manner)
- Must be Over the age of 21 required
- Minimum of 5-years driving experience required
- Possess a Valid FL Driver's license (within 30 days of hire if currently do not possess)
- Possess a continuously valid US Driver's license for the past three years, from date of issue required
