- The BA/BS Counselor at LIFESTREAM BEHAVIORAL CENTER is responsible for providing high-quality counseling services to clients, utilizing evidence-based practices to support their mental health and well-being. The counselor will work collaboratively with clients to develop personalized treatment plans and provide ongoing support to help them achieve their therapeutic goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive assessments of clients to identify their mental health needs and develop appropriate treatment plans.
- Provide individual and group counseling sessions to clients, utilizing evidence-based therapeutic techniques.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date client records, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with all relevant regulations.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals and community resources to coordinate care and provide holistic support to clients.
- Participate in ongoing professional development and training to stay current with best practices in the field of behavioral health.
- Engage in regular supervision and consultation to enhance clinical skills and ensure the delivery of high-quality services.
- Support clients in crisis situations, providing appropriate interventions and referrals as needed.
- Educate clients and their families about mental health conditions and available resources to promote understanding and engagement in the treatment process.
- Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, or a related field.
Required Experience:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a counseling or mental health setting.
- Experience working with diverse populations, including individuals with mental health and substance use disorders.
- Proven track record of developing and implementing individualized treatment plans.
- Experience in crisis intervention and conflict resolution.
Required Skills and Abilities:
- Strong understanding of mental health disorders and therapeutic techniques.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with clients, families, and team members.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical guidelines.
- Proficient in documentation and record-keeping with attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously.
- Proficiency in using electronic health records and other relevant software.
