POSITION SUMMARY:
This position has the overall responsibility of assisting the Therapeutic Rehabilitation Program (TRP) Manager in the day-to-day operations of the Therapeutic Rehabilitation Program.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
(1) Help plan, supervise, and teach clients in therapeutic skill building programs/groups.
(2) Responsible for record keeping and documentation which includes indirect service registers, completing daily progress notes, processing purchase orders after shopping, and federal food program paperwork (daily, monthly, and annually) and annual client food program applications.
(3)Refer clients to other services as requested or needed.
(3) Plan, shop, and prepare for program meals under the federal food program guidelines, shop for craft supplies/program supplies, order janitorial supplies, order office supplies when needed, shop for snacks and drinks for client canteen.
(4) Secure guest speakers from both the community and the Pennyroyal Center for the year.
(5) Gather and enter information for the program into the current computer system.
(6) Participate in goal planning for the program at budget time.
(7) Plan for and carry out ways to earn money for the clients' checking account for community outings (i.e., make crafts, have internal raffles, cater Center meeting meals, etc.).
(8) Maintain First Aid and CPR certification.
(9) Work closely with all members of the Community Support Program staff as well as therapists, doctors, nurses, and all other staff at the Center.
(10) Work with TRP members' families when needed for continuing care of TRP clients.
(11) Assist in transporting clients when needed.
(12) Participate in in-service and continuing education programs.
(13) Work flexible hours to meet program needs as directed by supervisor.
(14) Provide coverage in other TRP's within the region, as assigned.
(15) Perform other duties as deemed necessary/requested by the supervisor.
Qualifications:QUALIFICATIONS:
(1) Minimum of Bachelor's degree in psychology, sociology, social work or human services as determined by Medicaid as a mental health field; will consider R.N. with psychiatric service experience. Experience working with the persistently mentally ill desired.
(2) Must convey a positive and professional attitude/manner to clients, family members, and staff.
(3) Must obtain and maintain certification in First Aid and CPR.
(4) Must present proof of a recent (less than 1-year-old) TB skin test.
(5) Must have a valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and proof of automobile insurance.
(6) Must pass a Criminal Record check and a Sexual Offender Registry check.
