Custodian
LifeShare Blood Center is seeking a dependable Custodian to join our properties team. The Custodian will perform routine cleaning of the building, furnishings and surrounding grounds. Providing excellent service and quality work, the Custodian will facilitate the continuity of operations and help ensure employee safety.

Job duties include:
- Cleans and disinfects restrooms, to include mirrors, sinks, countertops, hand dryers, toilets, and stall and door handles
- Cleans and maintains employee breakrooms
- Re-stocks restroom supplies (paper towels, soap, toilet paper)
- Maintains adequate supply stock levels
- Trash removal
- Vacuums carpeted work areas
- Dusts assigned work areas, including cubicles and blinds
- Mops floors, including repeat spot cleaning, as needed
- Wipes and disinfects donor chairs (to include donor chair storage)
- High dusts vents and ledges
- Cleans windows and ledges
- Waters plants in common areas throughout the facility
Beginning rate of pay is $15/hr., commensurate with experience. LifeShare offers a generous benefits package for part-time employees, including employer base retirement and matching contributions to the 401(k) retirement plan, paid time off, and employee wellness program.
Qualifications:KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS / ABILITIES:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Custodial knowledge and experience preferred
- Working knowledge of facility cleaning practices preferred
- Able to read and understand cleaning equipment operational instructions and diagrams
- Able to operate cleaning equipment in a safe, proper manner
- Must be dependable, punctual and have effective communication skills
- Must demonstrate a positive approach toward customers, vendors and other staff members, acting in a highly professional manner at all times
- Requires occasional driving; must have a satisfactory motor vehicle record
PHYSICAL DEMANDS / WORKING CONDITIONS / ENVIRONMENT:
- Must be able to lift 25 lbs., unassisted
- Must be able to bend, lift, reach, carry, push and pull associated equipment and supplies
- Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods of time
- Low risk of exposure to infectious diseases from blood and blood products
- Must be able to operate a Company vehicle to travel between multiple facilities in the region
