We are looking for a reliable and hardworking Prep Cook/Cashier to join our team at the Ohio State House.  In this dual role, you will be responsible for preparing food ingredients, maintaining a clean kitchen, and ensuring accurate and friendly service at the cash register. This position is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys both kitchen work and interacting with customers.

Key Responsibilities:

Prep Cook Duties:

• Prepare ingredients by washing, chopping, and measuring.
• Assist in basic cooking tasks such as grilling, assembling food items, and portioning.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen and storage areas.
• Follow all food safety and sanitation guidelines.
• Label and store food properly.
• Help restock kitchen supplies and ingredients as needed.

Cashier Duties:

• Greet customers warmly and answer menu-related questions.
• Accurately take and enter orders using the point-of-sale (POS) system.
• Handle cash, credit, and mobile transactions correctly.
• Maintain a clean and organized cashier station and dining area.
• Assist with order assembly and packaging for takeout or dine-in.
• Monitor inventory of front-of-house items like utensils, napkins, and condiments.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous experience in food service or customer service is a plus.
• Basic math and communication skills.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs.
• Team player with a positive attitude and strong work ethic.
