We are looking for a reliable and hardworking Prep Cook/Cashier to join our team at the Ohio State House. In this dual role, you will be responsible for preparing food ingredients, maintaining a clean kitchen, and ensuring accurate and friendly service at the cash register. Key Responsibilities:
Prep Cook Duties:
- Prepare ingredients by washing, chopping, and measuring.
- Assist in basic cooking tasks such as grilling, assembling food items, and portioning.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen and storage areas.
- Follow all food safety and sanitation guidelines.
- Label and store food properly.
- Help restock kitchen supplies and ingredients as needed.
Cashier Duties:
- Greet customers warmly and answer menu-related questions.
- Accurately take and enter orders using the point-of-sale (POS) system.
- Handle cash, credit, and mobile transactions correctly.
- Maintain a clean and organized cashier station and dining area.
- Assist with order assembly and packaging for takeout or dine-in.
- Monitor inventory of front-of-house items like utensils, napkins, and condiments.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous experience in food service or customer service is a plus.
- Basic math and communication skills.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs.
- Team player with a positive attitude and strong work ethic.
