Our guests depend on the shop for items from sleeping bags to new clothes for a job interview. This position requires someone who understands the value of our store for those we serve while also appreciating the fact it is a retail environment.
Job Requirements:
- Must be 18 years or older
- Prior customer service experience
- High school or GED
- Ability to pass a CORI
- Prior customer service or retail experience preferred (training provided)
- Comfortable working with the public and clients from diverse backgrounds
- Maintain professional appearance and attitude
- Strong attention to detail and ability to handle cash accurately.
- Ability to work independently and part of a team
- Ability to work a flexible schedule based on customer and company needs
- Employee must be able to lift up to 30 pounds and stand for long periods of time
- The employee must be able to work well with volunteers, donors, customers and staff
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide exceptional customer service by greeting shoppers, answering questions, offering assistance, and responding to inquiries professionally.
- Serve as an ambassador for the organization and maintain knowledge of its mission
- Accurately operate the cash register, process transactions, handle various forms of payment, make change, and close out/register reconciliation at the end of the day.
- Organize and develop the sales area
- Ensure all donations are clean and in safe condition
- Keep the sorting area safe, clean and organized.
- Assist with sorting, cleaning, pricing, and stocking donated merchandise.
- Work with the team on consistent pricing
- Preparing and delivering product to the sales floor
- Managing recycling, trash, overstock and hangers
- Ability to price and distribute donations in proper locations throughout the store
- Answer the telephone, respond to donor and customer inquiries in a professional manner.
- Provide respectful, compassionate support to Lifebridge clients using voouvhers or other program services
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision
- Flexibility to cover different areas of the store as needed.
- Attend Staff meeting as directed by Shop Manager

Pay: $17.00 - $18.00 per hour
