As a Charge Nurse, you will serve as a clinical leader, mentor, and resource for nursing staff while ensuring the delivery of safe, high-quality resident care. As a Charge Nurse, you will serve as a clinical leader, mentor, and resource for nursing staff while ensuring the delivery of safe, high-quality resident care. You will collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, support staff development, coordinate daily operations, and help foster a positive culture of teamwork and excellence.
What You'll Do
- Provide direct patient care while leading and supporting nursing staff.
- Coordinate daily clinical operations and resident care activities.
- Serve as a clinical resource and role model for RNs, LPNs, and CNAs.
- Monitor resident conditions, identify changes, and respond appropriately to clinical concerns.
- Assist with staffing coordination and patient throughput activities.
- Conduct patient rounds, chart reviews, and compliance monitoring.
- Support staff education, onboarding, competency validation, and professional development.
- Participate in performance management and employee coaching.
- Collaborate with physicians, therapists, social workers, and other interdisciplinary team members.
- Promote a culture of safety, quality, resident satisfaction, and teamwork.
- Lead and respond to emergency situations while maintaining unit operations.
Required
- Graduate of an accredited Nursing Program.
- Current Maryland RN License or eligibility to obtain Maryland licensure.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification.
- Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience, preferably in Long-Term Care, Skilled Nursing, Rehabilitation, or Geriatric Care.
- Strong clinical assessment, leadership, communication, and critical thinking skills.
- Ability to effectively manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Previous Charge Nurse, Team Lead, or Supervisory experience.
- Long-Term Care or Geriatric Nursing experience.
- Nursing specialty certification or willingness to obtain certification within 3-5 years.
