Position Summary
Life University is seeking qualified and experienced Reserve Police Officers to support the Campus Police Department by providing on-call law enforcement services and additional coverage during peak periods, special events, emergencies, or staffing shortages.
Reserve Officers play an important role in helping maintain a safe, secure, and welcoming campus environment for students, faculty, staff, and visitors while supporting Life University’s mission of Lasting Purpose and Student Success.
Reserve Police Officers are not regularly scheduled employees and serve in an on-call capacity, working assignments as needed and approved by the Chief of Campus Police or designee.
Key Responsibilities
The On-Call Reserve Campus Safety Representative position is intended to provide supplemental safety staffing and does not guarantee a set number of hours. Assignments will be scheduled based on campus safety needs and employee availability.

Key Responsibilities
- Provide on-call law enforcement services to supplement regular campus police staffing.
- Respond to calls for service, emergencies, alarms, and incidents occurring on university property.
- Patrol campus buildings, parking areas, residence halls, and grounds to ensure safety and security.
- Enforce state laws, local ordinances, and Life University policies.
- Assist with crowd control, traffic direction, and safety monitoring during campus events and activities.
- Conduct preliminary investigations of incidents, accidents, or suspicious activity.
- Prepare and submit incident reports and documentation in accordance with departmental procedures.
- Provide assistance and guidance to students, faculty, staff, and visitors.
- Support full-time officers during emergency response situations.
- Maintain familiarity with campus geography, safety protocols, and departmental procedures.
- Participate in required training and departmental briefings.
